American Institute of Chemical Engineers
About
Mission: The objectives of this organization shall be (a) To promote members' professional development and skills, and (b) To encourage the growth of the Chemical and Molecular Engineering Major at Stony Brook University through active involvement of both student body and faculty.
We are an academically driven club that provide students with opportunities to network with industry and research professionals. This club is open to all, but students enrolled in the "Chemical and Molecular Engineering" program (CME) will benefit the most. Overall, our goals are to provide insight for possible career paths for students and aid them in their professional development for the future.
We have a variety of activities to suit the many interests of our membership. Every year, we build a Chem-E-Car to compete in regional competitions against other schools. The teams with the best performing cars are invited to compete in national competitions. We also have a Chem-E-Sports team, which is a process simulation competition team, and a Chem-E-Jeopardy team, which competes in ChE trivia.
We regularly host GBMs and larger events with CEAS orgs and the career center to offer professional development and networking opportunities to our members. We also regularly have social events to step away from stress and have fun.
